Successful candidates will be offered the minimum of the pay scale and in some circumstances salary negotiations will be dependent on the demonstration of skills and experience. Job summary

As an Assistant Management Accountant within the Strategic Finance Team at Companies House, you will be part of our Central finance function. You will support our monthly management reporting process, and perform a range of management accounting tasks to support our Management Accountants and Finance Business Partners in the wider financial management of the organisation.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and progress a career in finance. Support will be provided to pursue a professional accountancy qualification, and training will be provided on Microsoft’s Power BI data visualisation software, and the Alteryx analytics automation platform.

Job description

Responsibilities will include:

  • Report generation and workflow operation for our monthly management reporting process
  • Support for our monthly project timesheet and recharge process
  • Support for the administration of our Government Procurement Card service
  • The posting of correction journals, and accruals & prepayment journals
  • Workflow operation for a number of standard monthly processes
  • Other Ad hoc finance tasks commensurate with the role, including support to key stakeholders

Person specification

Essential 

  • Experience in a finance role
  • Intermediate Excel Skills
  • Willingness to study for CCAB/CIMA professional accountancy qualification

Desirable 

  • AAT qualified, or CCAB/CIMA part qualified accountant
  • Experience using Finance systems
  • Experience working to deadlines
