Job summary
We are currently looking for a Senior Inspector to join our Standards & Compliance Team within the Healthcare Quality & Access group.
This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be Home based with occasional travel to our Canary Wharf London and South Mimms offices as well as travel to inspection sites. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.Please discuss this with the recruiting manager before accepting an appointment.
Salary arrangements depend on home location with London-based employees receiving London rate of £67,158. Additionally, you will receive a Market Pay Supplement of £8,000 p.a.

Job description
Whats the role?
As Senior GPvP inspector, you will be a part of the GPvP Compliance Team whose remit is to perform inspections at a wide range of sites in the UK (and potentially overseas) to assess the compliance of organisations with their legal pharmacovigilance obligations. In addition to conducting routine and complex GPvP inspections of UK marketing authorisation holders, you will play a pivotal role in the training, guidance and mentoring of less experienced inspectors in the team. You may also be involved in other activities such as presenting at conferences and training events to help improve industry compliance, dealing with international bodies and other regulatory authorities and helping to drive forward regulatory processes within the UK and further afield with the ultimate aim of protecting public health.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform routine and complex GPvP inspections of marketing authorisation holders and their service providers, primarily within the UK but also potentially overseas. This includes planning, conducting, and reporting inspections and assessing the adequacy of responses from the inspected organisation.
- Support the technical development of the GPvP Compliance Team by providing mentorship and guidance to more junior members of the team.
- Work with GxP Expert inspectors and GxP Compliance Teams to actively contribute to the GxP Compliance Strategy, including the development and integration of enabling inspections supporting innovation.
- Support the continued development of the Compliance Team quality system by maintaining current knowledge and expertise in relevant scientific, professional and administrative matters.
Person specification
Who are we looking for?
Our successful candidate will:
- Have a degree in a relevant science, medical or engineering degree (e.g. pharmacy, chemistry, microbiology, pharmacology, biochemistry, biology, medicine, engineering).
- Have a proven track record of planning, conducting and reporting GPvP inspections in a regulatory capacity in the UK or another country.
- Have in-depth knowledge and experience of pharmacovigilance as well as of inspection techniques and their application to identify complex inspection findings and assess their seriousness.
- Work effectively in a team as well as independently to achieve common goals and to build capacity and knowledge within the team.
- Be confident in communicating and influencing internal and external stakeholders.
