We are currently recruiting for a Research and Impact Manager to join our team in Birmingham. You will manage and deliver a range of research and evaluation projects, using a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods, to build our understanding of consumer behaviour and evaluate the impact of policy.

Job description

As a Research and Impact Manager, you will be responsible for delivering and supporting research that fills and identifies evidence gaps and strengthens the evidence base that we rely upon to regulate effectively.

Your role will also involve:

– Project managing research and evaluation projects to time and budget.
– Working effectively with external research agencies and managing internal and external stakeholders and their expectations.
– Conducting in-depth statistical analysis that combines data and information sources available to the team, as well as seeking out new sources of insight and data to support our work.
– Working with our Corporate Affairs team to manage the communication and dissemination of the team’s outputs and maximise their impact.
– Ongoing scanning of the wider evidence ecosystem, and networking to improve our connections to external research and knowledge.

This is a hybrid role, therefore there will be a requirement to attend our Birmingham Office.

Person specification

– Background in research and impact evaluation, and experience of leading or managing research projects with strong project management skills.
– Strong analysis skills including experience of working with different types of data, such as survey data or operational data.
– Strong spoken and written communication skills to convey and present complex data analysis and evidence to internal and external audiences.
– Experience of using SPSS for statistical analysis.
– Experience within the development of analytical processes and assurance methods, in accordance with the Data Management Strategy and relevant policies and processes.
Alongside your salary of £36,720, Gambling Commission contributes
£9,914 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme.
