This position is advertised at 37 hours per week. 

Job description

The successful candidate will be versatile with a flexible approach to accommodate the constantly evolving needs of service delivery and provide general storekeeping support to the wider establishment. This will consist of receiving, issuing and accounting of Naval Stores on a computer based management application in accordance with current policy and procedures.  Working alongside a small team within a Warehouse Environment, you will also carry out general storekeeping duties  

The Primary function of this position is to manage Articles in Use on computer database applications. This role is crucial; ensuring equipment is accounted for and available to effectively support operations.

Responsibilities : 

  • Responsible for the control and accounting of stores assets on the computer database, complying with the Defence Logistics Framework (DLF) Policy.
  • Manage the receipt, storage, issue and onward dispatch/disposal of all military stores.
  • Ensure all newly delivered equipment is processed and accounted for in accordance with policy and guidelines.
  • Load and unload stores equipment from delivery vehicles, using mechanical aids.
  • Carry out miscellaneous tasks as directed by the Line Manager

You will receive essential training on the Stores Database.

Person specification

Qualifications

Desirable:

  • NVQ L3 in Logistical Operations Management or equivalent.
  • Full UK Manual Driving License no more than 6 penalty points (Cat C and Forklift).

 

Experience

Essential:

  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Applications, to include Word, Teams, Excel and Skype.

Desirable:

  • Trained on Stores Asset Database.
  • Previous experience working in a warehouse environment.

Selection process details
