Job description
The position is within the Shipping & Receiving Team, as part of the Material Management Division of the Logistics Operation Office and is under the direct supervision of the Shipping & Receiving Manager.
Responsibilities include:
- receiving, stock storage & issue, distribution, packing & crating and forklift support.
- construct and/or modify bespoke wooden packing crates to contain parts in readiness for shipping offsite.
- ensure the contents are correctly prepared for shipment.
- being cross trained and utilised for any of the general warehouse activities as the need arises.
- with appropriate training, operate powered material handling equipment. Personnel will not be issued a licence to operate a vehicle of a larger category than authorised by their British Licence.

Person specification
A minimum of 4 years Joinery/Carpentry experience alongside relevant skills & qualifications to use associated tools, such as large circular table saws, band saws, pillar drills and a variety of handheld tools would be desirable.
Successful candidates will be required to acquire a SC clearance but will be expected to obtain and maintain an enhanced DV clearance once in post to enable them to fully carry out all duties that may be assigned.
Candidates must be in good physical condition and be capable to lift/handle containers weighing up to 35kgs. They will be expected to climb steps within houses and to reach high storage locations within the warehouses.
A full valid UK driving licence is vital in order to operate vehicles and equipment utilised within the Warehouses.
