Job description

As a part of the Supply Chain team within this highly customer focused role, you will be working directly with our colleagues in Royal Fleet Auxiliary, including Ship staff and our core commercial partner Cammell Laird to provide support procuring and delivering spare gear. This newly created role will be overseeing the core inventory management for two specific ships and will be working closely with Defence Equipment and Support Head Office teams based in Bristol. The key focus of your role will be the organisation of spares to provide ongoing support to Royal Fleet Auxiliary Ships and will require you to be trained on maintenance and inventory management systems. There is plenty of opportunity to get involved with other parts of Royal Fleet Auxiliary support and wider procurement of spare gear.

As part of hybrid working you will be expected to work on our shared site with Cammell Laird commercial partners, Royal Fleet Auxiliary staff and wider MOD colleagues for a minimum of 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating and maintaining Item Data Records onto the inventory management systems for an agreed range of equipment by collating all data values, to enable optimised Supply Chain activities, through life.
  • Producing stock data to enable Demand and Supply Planning for agreed ranges of equipment, using centrally approved Inventory analysis tools.
  • Support in the identification of the storage and distribution requirements for agreed ranges of equipment.
  • Support the timely production of Customs Declaration documents to enable compliant HMRC activities when distributing Inventory into and or out of the UK.
  • Supporting accounting activities for a range of Ministry of Defence owned equipment to enable materiel and financial accounting in accordance with Policies and Processes.
  • Produce data in support of recommendations for the disposal of equipment in a timely manner for agreed ranges of equipment.
  • Support loan management activities for agreed ranges of equipment.

Person specification

To be successful with your application, you’ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Experience of stakeholder engagement
  • Experience in delivering customer service
  • Experience of working collaboratively in teams
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams)
