Job description

Provide social research and evaluation analysis and insights for MMO service areas as set out in the MMO Evidence Strategy

Support the development of social research and evaluation evidence requirements for MMO.

Specify and project manage the production and/or commissioning of social research and/or evaluation projects to fulfil MMO evidence requirements.

Support the transfer of relevant social research and/or evaluation knowledge to MMO colleagues.

Work with Evidence and Evaluation Team colleagues to provide integrated, inter-disciplinary and applied scientific evidence for use in MMO decision making and build capacity in policy delivery.

Build and develop relationships with academics, industry and other evidence providers to steer and influence their scientific work and co-produce relevant MMO evidence while keeping up to date with issues and research.

Work with colleagues across the government marine and fisheries system (Defra, Natural England, JNCC, Cefas, Environment Agency, IFCAs and Seafish) to coordinate and steer the production and use of evidence.

Line manage colleagues when required, support peer learning and knowledge exchange with the Evidence and Evaluation team.
