Job description

We look forward to reading your application for the role of Delivery Manager – Technical Skills

The selected candidate will lead the day-to-day delivery of a range of technical skills training courses and events, integrating teaching across Investigative, Digital & Cyber, Police Search, and other specialist policing related disciplines, optimising resources to recover costs, generate income and meet agreed customer and College specifications, to build and maintain the College’s reputation as the provider by choice of high-quality learning in specialist policing.

Person specification

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and guiding colleagues in the development of evidence-based policies, standards, guidance and resultant learning and development opportunities, and ensuring these are considered in formulating curriculum requirements and training delivery plans.
  • Leading the development, maintenance and delivery of training courses, and other learning interventions in accordance with agreed quality standards, timescales, training plans and utilisation schedules, taking action where appropriate to address shortfalls in delivery, to embed common cross-cutting principles and approaches across the specialist teams.
  • Leading and developing diverse, inclusive high performing teams

 

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • A Level 6/7 qualification in the subject matter or extensive equivalent experience
  • Level 4 Trainer Qualification (or working towards within 6months)
  • Qualified Assessor and Internal Verifier or working towards 
  • Qualified PIP3 SIO Superintendent, experience of dealing with Major and Serious and Organised Crime 
  • Skilled at creating and leading high performing teams, working collaboratively and flexibly across a complex matrix environment

This role is available for 2 or 3 years as a secondment opportunity to:

•    serving police officers substantive in the rank of Superintendent, or those officers suitably qualified for temporary promotion in the rank of Chief Inspector. All applicants must have the support of their Chief Officer which must be of NPCC rank, i.e., CC, ACC or DCC and this must accompany an application. Central service conditions may apply.
