We will consider applications from people able to access the following offices: Birmingham, Bristol, London and Norwich. Hybrid Working is available to GIAA colleagues. This means a combination of office working and working from home. This includes time spent in our GIAA office locations and can also include any time spent attending our customers’ sites. GIAA colleagues are expected to work in an office location for two days a week on average (40%). Naturally, this expectation will be applied on a pro-rata basis for people who have a part-time or compressed hours working pattern. We are a customer-facing and a social Agency. Interacting in person with our customers and with one another benefits both our work and our wellbeing. Office working is not restricted to the office nearest to your home. Hybrid Working is an enabler so we encourage colleagues to manage their own office working arrangements, choosing the most appropriate office location for your needs. Relocation costs will not be reimbursed Existing GIAA employees will be allowed to remain in their current location

Job summary

About Government Internal Audit Agency

We are an executive agency of His Majesty’s Treasury (HM Treasury), established in April 2015 to improve the quality of internal audit provided to central government.

Most of the Agency’s people are professionally qualified internal auditors, accountants or investigators.

Many are also specialists in areas including counter fraud, project management, digital and commercial audit.

We lead both the Government Internal Audit Profession and the Government Internal Audit Function.

Our workforce brings with it a unique depth of experience gained in a wide range of government departments, related bodies and other sectors.

This enables us to offer a high-quality service based on cross-government insight and a strong understanding of our customers’ business.

In GIAA, we aim to be a great place to work and to ensure that we have the capability and capacity to make even more of a significant contribution to achieving A Brilliant Civil Service over the coming years.

Our initial focus was on becoming “a single audit practice”. We are now focused on taking GIAA to the next level so we can provide better insights and better outcomes for government.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Governance Team in the Corporate Services Directorate in the Government Internal Audit Agency (GIAA).

The Governance Team is responsible for Corporate Governance, Risk and Assurance, Propriety and Ethics, responding to Correspondence as well as supporting the effective administration of Board and other internal committee meetings across the Agency.

  • Supporting the Deputy Board Secretary in organising logistics for committee meetings, including booking travel and accommodation for senior stakeholders.
  • Maintaining and developing Intranet pages on behalf of the Governance team, working with internal stakeholders to ensure material is accurate and appropriately communicated to all GIAA staff.
  • Leading on responses to Governance queries from GIAA staff and stakeholders.
  • Other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Training will be provided where necessary for the successful candidate.
