The Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA) is a part of the Ministry of Defence responsible for the procurement, in-service support, and disposal of the UK’s nuclear submarines. Job description

At the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA), our purpose is to deliver the United Kingdom’s submarine capability and ensure the Royal Navy have the lifesaving, battle-winning capabilities to overcome adversaries and adversity, now and in the future. Come and join us as a Supply Chain Specialist Manager within the Customer Liaison Team.

You will manage a small team delivering In-Service Support to operational platforms. You will be conducting a variety of Supply Chain activities that contribute operational success including Customer Demand Planning/Progression, Inventory Supply Planning, Supplier Management and Supply Chain Performance Management. It is a key role in enabling optimised supply chains and escalating emerging issues in a timely manner.

You will be encouraged to develop your skills through training and on the job learning and will ensure that a high-quality service is delivered. This will be demonstrated through your ability to collaborate with others to support your customers in the Royal Navy and other SDA Delivery Teams.

A keen eye for detail and data management skills will play a vital part in this post and will enable you to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement within our supply chain operations.

Please note that this role is based in our offices in HMNB Clyde, with a working pattern of Monday -Friday and is 100% site based

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the day-to-day management of the delivery of in-service support within area of responsibility, according to the customer requirements
  • Aiding the time critical provision of materiel requirements for Clyde based customers
  • Managing assurance, endorsement, and approvals through the appropriate channels to support senior colleagues and customer requirements during Base Maintenance Periods
  • Supporting the development of supply solutions, assessing risk; able to communicate updates and changes to stakeholders
  • Applying governance arrangements for the delivery of the service, aligned with SDA, Contract and Customer requirements
  • Developing Inventory Demand and Supply Plans proposals

Person specification

To be successful with your application, you’ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

  • Experience in delivering customer service and stakeholder management
  • Skilled in handling, interpreting, and reporting on data
  • Evidence of working collaboratively with others
  • Experience in mentoring/supporting/leading others
  • Ability in using Logistic Information Systems
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and TEAMS)
