Job description

As a Deputy Director CDO you will:

Lead the ongoing development of the Agency’s information governance framework, ensuring informed decisions in relation to prioritisation of activity, people and financial investment are able to be made.
 
Set Agency Data and Information policies, standards and guidelines aligned to HMG strategies, policies and standards where appropriate.
 
Chair the Agency’s Data Authorisation Panel, Data Risk Working group and other key fora as appropriate.
 
Lead the Agency’s response to mitigating information risk, ensuring the continued reduction of the risk scoring. Establish and mature information second line assurance activity to further drive up compliance.
 
Mature the Information Custodian [IC] network, working closely with business areas across the agency to mature the Agency’s data and information best practice and compliance.
 
Develop and deliver the Agency’s Data Literacy programme to grow and enhance the agency’s data and information management capabilities.
 
Lead the delivery of the Agency’s Data compliance and Information Management statutory functions, ensuring key KPIs are met.

Lead the development and implementation of the Agency’s Public Records Act delivery plan.    

Enable delivery of the Agency’s Data & Technology Strategy.

Act as Senior Business User on Data and Information Management requirements for the Digital Transformation Programme and wider agency Transformation Portfolio.

Lead the implementation of tooling to ensure the Agency is compliant with its data handling and information management statutory obligations.

Maintain effective working relationships with Law Enforcement and Government partners as well as external suppliers to ensure industry best practice is built back into Agency delivery programmes.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with regulators and external auditors of any data and information audits including the implementation of any remedial activity required.

Sponsor and participate in corporate initiatives.

Pre-employment checks –  Pre-employment checks take on average 16 weeks from the point of offer to arranging a start date.
