This post is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

Working within HQ DSEME EC&V department, the successful candidate will be:

  • Ensure correct assessment practices within the Training Delivery area, in the form of internal quality assurance including: Coordinating the Depts Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) assessment sampling plans and activities to allow for the monitoring of assessments in compliance with accrediting organisations policies and procedures
  • Ensure the standardisation of assessment practices is planned, reviewed and monitored.
  • Ensure the Dept maintains a current system of hard copy assessment papers in the event of electronic generated exams being unavailable.
  • Collate and provide assessment data and information for stakeholders as required.
  • Analyse student feedback and in accordance with JSP 101 Defence writing style, analyse, collate and produce individual course reports with recommended actions, using all available data capture methods with timely publication to key stakeholders as per published timetable.
  • Undertake assessment verification: implement and maintain a facility and discrimination index value (FV & DI) system to maintain the validity of Authority owned question banks.

Dept Accreditation point of contact:

  • Maintain communication links with External Awarding organisations to ensure compliance of assessment/documentation material, and timely payment of invoices via CP&F finance system.
  • Lead verifier in examining and authorising accreditation Professional Recognitions Award (PRAs) applications.
  • Make amendments where required within area of responsibility

Person specification

The successful candidate will have excellent IT skills to extensively use MS Office and proven communication and writing skills.

They will need experience of communicating and presenting to higher grade levels and with multiple key stakeholders.

The desirable qualifications/experience for the post are as follows:

  • Experience. Relevant experience of working in a Training Environment evaluating training.
  • Knowledge of the Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
  • An awareness of Moodle applications

QualificationsThe Level 3 Award in Understanding the Principles and Practices of Assessment or be willing to complete within 12 months of taking up post.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
