We are delighted to seek a talented individual for our Estates Business Services Administrator role, offering a permanent contract and the opportunity to join a diverse and collaborative Business Services team.  Estates Business Services are responsible for delivering finance and administrative support to the Estates department. This role will be based at RBG Kew’s beautiful botanic gardens site, Kew Gardens.

Job description

The Estates Business Services Administrator role focuses on supporting the administration and financial actions for Kew’s Estates department. This position will be responsible for supporting the department’s day-to-day operational needs, executing timely payments, and managing supplier relationships. The successful candidate will be working in a fast-paced team, responsible for processing invoices, receipting, housekeeping of purchase orders and aiding with supplier account issues. The role will principally act to enable and deliver the smooth running of the Business Services section whilst supporting the senior management team as directed by your line manager.  This role sits within a team of 7 business services support staff that deliver excellent customer service to the wider department.

Person specification

The Ideal candidate should have a background of providing administrative support to a team and possess a great attitude, a keenness to learn and the motivation to work through a variety of different tasks. Exceptional communication skills will help the chosen applicant in their day-to-day duties liaising with in house and external suppliers. A strong financial acumen and educated to GCSE standard Maths is essential, as this position will deliver month-end activities via the Agresso finance system, liaising with the Estates Business Services manager to complete all activities within financial deadlines and in line with financial regulations.  Experience of using Excel will be required as this role involves the management, creation, and interpretation of multiple and sometimes large data sheets. Experience and knowledge of IT systems will be advantageous however training on the various operating systems will be provided by the Business Services team as required.
