Job description

We look forward to reading your application for the role of Resource and Performance Analyst

The selected candidate will join the College of Policing’s Corporate Development Unit, supporting colleagues across the organisation to collate, analyse and report data that helps us better understand our resource commitments, track the early and long-term impact our work is having, and effectively manage risks and issues that might otherwise challenge delivery. The Corporate Development Unit is a relatively new team within the College; we are enthusiastic and flexible in our approach to supporting colleagues and each other, and passionate about the critical role we play in supporting policing nationally. You will have knowledge and experience of data management, corporate performance and risk management, and highly proficient skills in data collation, analysis, presentation and reporting. You will bring the resilience, focus and leadership skills necessary to identify and deliver improvements across our data infrastructure and be able to work constructively and collaboratively with colleagues at all levels, exerting positive influence in your day-to-day role to really make a difference.  In return, we will support you to develop your corporate career in an organisation with excellent development opportunities and significant national influence.

Person specification

Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, develop and maintain up-to-date resource capacity plan for the College, working with Finance, HR and across portfolios to enable College-wide resourcing and deployment decisions which are based on a thorough understanding of capacity and demand.
  • Identify and provide analytical support required to produce routine performance analysis that identifies trends and issues affecting performance, highlighting successes and areas of risk. Ensure performance analysis is completed in a timely way to inform the suite of performance reporting products and metrics being developed by the Performance and CI team.
  • Use capacity data to design and routinely produce a range of management information products (MI) for TCDG (e.g. capacity dashboards). Design and co-ordinate preparation of quarterly performance reports on portfolio delivery for Exec/Board – using agreed outcome measures in scopes as dashboard metrics 

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

  • Exceptional numerical reasoning, attention to detail and accuracy .
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications – Excellence in Excel
  • Ability to design and produce concise and accessible MI summaries that get across key messages clearly to facilitate decision making e.g. data dashboards, visualisations etc. Knowledge and experience in the use of Power Bi would be an advantage
