Job summary
The Integrated Corporate Services (ICS) is a new shared corporate service, launched in July 2023. It will provide corporate services (HR, Finance, Digital, Commercial, Security and Estates) across the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) and the Department for Science, Innovation & Skills (DSIT).
Our team of just over 300 professionals will be leading the way in how these functions will be delivered in the future. Our ambition is to be the leading provider of integrated corporate services for government and set the standard for quality, efficiency, and innovation in our field.

Job description
Do you want to use the latest technology to help government staff work more effectively and resiliently? Do you have the skills and experience to lead and manage software development products from start to finish? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a product manager.
As a product manager, you will be responsible for defining and communicating the vision and goals of our software products that aim to improve the information and knowledge management staff across DESNZ and DSIT. You will work with scrum teams to prioritise the product backlog, provide feedback and guidance throughout the development process, and ensure customer satisfaction. You will also collaborate with other product owners and senior managers to align our products with the wider directorates vision and strategy.

Key Responsibilities
As a product manager, you will:
Conduct user research, data analysis, and market trends to understand user needs and business goals
Define and communicate the product vision and goals to the team and stakeholders
Prioritise the product backlog to align with business objectives and user needs
Work closely with the team throughout the development process to provide feedback and guidance
Schedule and lead meetings to identify product issues, risks, and dependencies
Evaluate the performance and impact of the products using data and user feedback
Ensure the products comply with relevant standards, policies, and regulations

We’re looking for someone with:
Essential Criteria
Experience as a product manager, product owner or similar role in the software industry
Knowledge of agile principles and processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions based on data and user feedback
Desirable Criteria
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 cloud platform and its features
