Job summary
We are looking for a M365 Information Governance Specialist to join our Security and Information Management Team.
The Security and Information Management team coordinates and promotes best practice in managing Ofsteds information. Managing information well is key to Ofsteds improvement, efficiency and effectiveness agenda. The team also work with the business to promote transparency and the proactive publication of information. Information Management colleagues work on the whole information lifecycle; from the point it is created to the point it needs publishing, reusing, archiving or deleting.
The post holder will perform Ofsteds information management and assurance function, ensuring advice is given to Ofsted parties to ensure that data risks are identified and managed appropriately to support the effective delivery of Ofsteds business. In doing so, they will work closely with security colleagues across Ofsted and in the wider government community, making sure the appropriate information security standards are maintained.

- Proven experience administrating and troubleshooting M365 solutions.
- Proficient in M365 technologies, permission management and content management e.g., DLP, record tagging, protective marking functionality.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Excellent knowledge of information risk analysis/ management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify risk and resolve security risks.
- Excellent working knowledge of Information Security Management and practical experience of applying the Data Protection Act, the Freedom of Information Act, GDPR and other related legislation, standards and codes of practice.

Application and Shortlisting:
The selection panel will assess your application based on your evidence you have provided against the essential criteria as set out in the person specification.
You will also be asked to provide information within the Employer/Activity History section of the application form. This information is equivalent to the information you would provide on a CV setting out your career history (this may be used in the sifting process).
Assessment and Interview:
Candidates who pass the benchmark at the shortlisting stage will be invited to an assessment and interview where they will be assessed against a mixture of the Civil Service behaviours and the experience skills set out in section 2 of the job specification.
Interviews and assessments will be held during the week commencing Monday 27 November 2023 at Piccadilly Gate, Manchester.
