We look forward to reading your application for the role of Curriculum, Qualifications and Apprenticeships Advisor
The selected candidate will manage the development of, maintain and support the implementation of national learning standards and associated programmes of professional education (including degree-level programmes, postgraduate programmes and apprenticeships), within the professional context of the National Policing Curriculum (NPC) and in accordance with the requirements of the Police Constable Entry Routes (PCER) and National Centre for Police Leadership (NCPL).

Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and advising on the formulation, design and development of evidence-based professional education programmes in policing; producing curricula, programme specifications, qualifications/assessment strategies and apprenticeships in policing.
- Consulting with internal and external stakeholders to inform the development of evidence-based education programmes (national standards, curricula, qualifications, apprenticeships and assessment strategies) and Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for national learning programmes for professional policing within agreed time, budget and quality parameters.
- Applying stringent quality assurance and version control processes to ensure that related standards and programmes are developed and maintained in compliance with national educational principles and processes and to the Colleges quality standards.
To be successful in this role youll need:
- A level 6 qualification in education, professional development or a related subject, or extensive equivalent experience
- Demonstrable experience of leading the design of learning programmes and assigning academic level and credit weighting, in a Higher Education (HE) context, including Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
- Significant experience in coordinating design and development of multiple learning, assessment and professional development products using a variety of evidence-based approaches and delivery solutions, ideally with a national or regional dimension
- Experience of working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, establishing and maintaining positive working relationships and removing unnecessary barriers to service delivery

These roles are available as a fixed term appointment or as a secondment opportunity, one is for 12 months and one is to July 2024. The secondment opportunity is available to:
- colleagues employed directly by the College or the Civil Service. Please note you will be required to obtain the written support of your line manager prior to submitting your application.
- serving police officers substantive in the rank of Inspector, or those officers suitably qualified for temporary promotion in the rank of Sergeant. All applicants must have the support of their Chief Officer which must be of NPCC rank, i.e., CC, ACC or DCC and this must accompany an application.
- serving police staff at the equivalent rank of Inspector who have their chief officer’s approval. Chief Officers approval must be of NPCC rank, i.e., CC, ACC or DCC. Approval for a secondment must accompany an application.
Central service conditions may apply for police officers and staff.

Whilst this fixed term contract is offered on the understanding that it will only last as long as the stated contract length, there could be a possibility that it could be extended or made permanent should circumstances allow.
