Job summary

The Deputy Infrastructure Manager is an integral member of the Quarter Master’s department, supporting the Firm Base/ Rear Operations Group. Working directly to the Quarter Master on behalf of the Head of Establishment (HOE) and to the Regimental Quartermaster Sergeant  Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2)  in the delivery of key firm base activity. The Deputy Infrastructure Manager is empowered to liaise with the Defence Infrastructure Organisation and the Soft Facilities Management Industry Partner (SFM IP) in order to deliver output.

This position will be based at The Royal Citadel, Plymouth, Devon, PL1 2PD.  29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery is a Very High Readiness unit in 3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines and as such sits within Navy Command Top Level Budget. The unit is responsible for the control and de-confliction of Joint Fires and Targeting within 3 Commando Brigade and uniquely is an Army unit within Navy Command.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

 Deputise for the Quarter Master (QM) in the delivery of Infrastructure and Firm Base services.

 Act as the focal point for Soft Facilities Management (SFM) on behalf of the QM, attending the weekly SFM meeting as the unit representative.

 Assist with the management the Defence Accommodation Stores (DAS) account on behalf of the Regimental Quarter Master (RQMS) attending the weekly SFM meeting as the unit representative.

Assist in the management and processing of MOD Infra requesting software currently Contract Purchasing and Finance (CP&F) and LEIDOS.

Roles required incumbent to act as the Deputy Fire Officer, also Building Manager for the department’s buildings.

 Assist the QM and RQMS as required in order to facilitate the wider regimental need.

Person specification

We are looking for a self-motivated Deputy Infrastructure Manager to provide Soft and Hard Facilities Management for 29 Commando RA. Do you have the enthusiasm and drive to undertake this role and the ability to work independently to achieve a successful outcome. Civil Servants that work within the Commando Force are key to the operational output of a Unit as they provide stability and continuity for a changing Military workforce.

Qualifications

Essential:

1. Infrastructure experience

2. Facilities management experience

3. Office 365 including Microsoft, Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook and Share point.

Desirable

1. Logistics experience

2. Fire safety awareness

Technical –

1. LEIDOS experience – preferred (training provided in post).

2. CP&F experience – preferred (training provided in post).

3. Fire trained – preferred (training provided in post).
