The Integrated Corporate Services (ICS) is a new shared corporate service, launched in July 2023. It will provide corporate services (HR, Finance, Digital, Commercial, Security and Estates) across the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) and the Department for Science, Innovation & Skills (DSIT).
Our team of just over 300 professionals will be leading the way in how these functions will be delivered in the future. Our ambition is to be the leading provider of integrated corporate services for government and set the standard for quality, efficiency, and innovation in our field.

Job description
Do you want to use the latest technology to help government staff work more effectively and resiliently? Do you have the skills and experience to develop and maintain digital products and services using Microsoft 365 cloud platform? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Senior Software Developer!
As a Senior Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing, coding, testing, deploying, and monitoring digital products and services that aim to improve the information and knowledge management of staff across DESNZ and DSIT. You will work with other teams such as designers, content creators, project managers, and information architects to ensure that our digital products and services meet user needs and business goals. You will also use your dev ops skills to automate and streamline the development process using Azure DevOps and or GitHub.
You will be part of the Knowledge and Information Management team, which is a cross-departmental team that provides digital solutions and services to support the delivery of DESNZ and DSITs objectives. We follow agile principles and practices to deliver high-quality products that meet user needs.

Key responsibilities:
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be doing the following:
Writing clean, secure, and scalable code using one or more programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.
Using Microsoft 365 cloud platform features such as Microsoft Graph, Power Apps, Power Automate, Teams, etc. to develop and maintain digital products and services
Testing and debugging code using various tools and frameworks such as Visual Studio, Azure DevOps etc.
Deploying and monitoring digital products and services to Microsoft 365 cloud platform using tools such as Azure DevOps.
Collaborating with other teams to ensure the development process is aligned with the design, content, and information architecture strategies
Researching and learning new technologies, frameworks, and languages to improve the development process and deliver value to the customers

Skills and experience:
Essential criteria
Experience as a developer or similar role in technology
Proficient in one or more programming languages such as C#, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.
Familiar with Microsoft 365 cloud platform features such as Microsoft Graph, Power Apps, Power Automate, Teams, PowerBI etc.
Proficient in dev ops skills such as automated deployments and monitoring.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Desirable criteria
Certification in Microsoft 365 or related fields
