Job summary
Blandford Garrison Support Unit (BGSU) is a mixed workforce of military and civilian staff. Its primary function is to provide facilities and support services to designated personnel within Blandford Garrison in order to meet the training and operational requirement. This support includes: Welfare, Administration, Security, Engineering, Logistics and Facilities Management. The QM Storekeeper (Bowman) is a key role within a busy Quartermaster’s Department accounting and managing all Bowman equipment within Blandford Garrison.
The key tasks of the Quartermaster Department team within Blandford Garrison is to provide G4 support. This support covers a wide plethora of areas and functions, but the primary function is to provide support to 11 (RSS) Signal Regiment Phase Two and Three training, ensuring all training resources are available from accommodation to stationery and training equipment. In addition to ensuring the training estate is maintained and the correct training equipment is supplied to the instructors, the Quartermasters Department looks after both the Hard and Soft facilities management of all areas contained within the limits of Blandford Garrison.
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
The key task of the QM Storekeeper (Bowman) is to account for and manage the 118 mobile and static BOWMAN training platforms including a large working spares pool. The QM Storekeeper (Bowman) will be required to utilise both MJDI and JAMES accounting and management tools, including all required backloading of unserviceable equipment to the relevant agencies.
The QM Storekeeper (Bowman) will be required to cross train in order to assist other accounts holders, ensuring there is continued support across the department during times of increased activity, leave or sickness.
Act as LERK rep for the QMs dept, ensuring all lifting equipment is checked and maintained prior to use and on a regular schedule, in line with LOLER regulations, including weekly checks on the department forklifts records.
Due to the nature of this position, this post is not suitable for hybrid working.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
