Job description
Security Services Group (SSG) provides specialist security advice, compliance and assurance to areas of the public sector that require the highest levels of security protection. SSG is the Governments expert provider specialising in design, installation and maintenance of both custom in-house security systems and highly accredited commercial products on the government estate. Working as part of a 230-person team, we provide full life support services to UK Defence and Government sites throughout the UK and overseas.
The position advertised will provide support in relation to the installation and maintenance of security systems across the Ministry Of Defence and Other Government Department estates.

This is an exciting, interesting and meaningful role within Government Security at high profile and technically complex Defence sites, Other Government Departments and Critical National Infrastructure security programs.
Person specification
We are looking for a motivated and passionate professional to join as a Senior Project Manager in the SSGs Physical Security Team.
This role will require operating away from home at times providing support to SSG operations across the United Kingdom and overseas, staying in overnight accommodation as the need arises.
Where applicable, the following allowances are payable in addition to basic salary: travel time (where travel is external to core hours), recall-to-duty allowance, environmental (Radiation) allowance, travel and subsistence package when working out of your region and overtime.
A Senior Project Manager role in SSG acts as a customer interface and will regularly represent SSG at high level external meetings, they will:
Undertake sophisticated discussions and consultations with SSG Project Managers and Client Security Officers for Key Project and Maintenance accounts
Lead (Line Manage) the dedicated in-house Skill Zones and sub-contractors to deliver the project and maintenance contracts to time, quality and cost
Provide full financial management: Estimating, Job costing, invoicing and budget management. Providing clear and detailed financial breakdown reports to the PS Team Leader
Be able to interpret and develop SSG Operations and external client requirements, working to support the team to deliver functional solutions
Require a solid understanding of British, European and Government Standards relating to security together with knowledge of QA and H&S policies
Provide technical subject matter expertise to interpret and apply policy and regulatory requirements ensuring solutions keep pace with legislation, guidance, and standard methodology
Recommend changes to policies, processes, standards, and practices that would improve operational performance or commercial viability.
Project manage schedules and work breakdown structures; tracking and managing delivery, providing assurance on milestones and timescales
Coordinate and supervise activities relating to major contracts.
Assure quality standards are met and CDM and general H&S are in line with current regulations.
Full functional training will be provided for certain systems to suit the business needs.
Work is predominately at SSG Customer locations across the UK and overseas, travelling accordingly to multiple Governmental and Military sites. In addition, due to operational requirements, there will be a necessity for detached duty in the UK or possibly overseas or be required to stay overnight at sites that are unsuitable distances from home address.
You may be provided with a non-liveried company vehicle with personal use (eligible for taxable benefit). You may also have opportunities for overtime and travelling time depending on business needs.
