Job description
As a Training Support Officer your key duties will include:
- Managing the group mailbox and escalating complex queries appropriately
- Regular communication with trainees and trainers
- Processing all administration related to internal and external training courses. This will include course loading, sending out joining instructions and greeting and escorting trainees and trainers
- Supporting the facilitation of the induction programme
- Regular minute taking for meetings chaired by the L&D team, and other teams within our business area
- Room booking management
- Maintaining and updating the L&D training calendar and Hub
Person specification
As a Training Support Officer within UK Security Vetting, we are looking for someone who has the following expertise and attributes:
- Excellent administration skills, with a high level of attention to detail
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using a variety of IT packages, especially Google Applications
- Adept at planning and prioritising their own workload
- Resilience, even when dealing with challenging situations
- A supportive team member who thrives when working collaboratively
- A proactive approach to developing themselves and others
Desirable
- An interest in a career within Learning and Development
This role will be based in either York or Glasgow. UKSV operates a hybrid working policy. There is flexibility to split your working week but with a minimum requirement of 60% in the listed Cabinet Office Hubs.

You will be asked to provide a 250-word statement on the Behaviour Delivering at Pace.
To assess experience you will be asked to provide a 500-word personal statement as part of the application process. A personal statement should provide a summary of your skills and achievements to show that you have the relevant experience, skills and attributes required for the role.
Please detail your experience relevant to the role and carefully consider the criteria listed in the person specification.
Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be undertaken using the lead Behaviour Delivering at Pace. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift, or progressed straight to assessment/interview.
