Job description
Monitor Health and Safety legislation and Corporate Liability
Assist in the review, development and implementation of the health and safety management system, policy(s), procedures, documentation and health, safety and welfare performance reports
Facilitate meetings and team communications; providing accurate and appropriate professional advice, support, training and inductions to all relevant parties, internal and external.
Assist in monitoring accident reporting and investigation(s)
Monitor the statutory provision and quality of Personal Protective Equipment
Provide ongoing support to the Occupational Health & Safety Advisor & Glasgow Office Facilities Team; as required.

Qualification
Applicants must hold a Level 3 NEBOSH National / International General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or an approved equivalent Health and Safety qualification and must be an IOSH Technical Member or above, or achieve this professional grade membership within 6 months of starting in post.
The successful candidate will be expected to achieve a NEBOSH Level 6 National Diploma for Occupational Health and Safety Management Professionals or equivalent qualification within two years of taking up their post, as well as achieving a Graduate Membership of IOSH within the same timeframe.
Essential Criteria
1. Strong people and self-management skills and be able to build and maintain relationships with internal and key external stakeholders
2. The ability to analyse and interpret information from a wide variety of sources
3. Experience of reviewing, developing and implementing policies and procedures along with sharing and presenting the information in an appropriate format accurately and on time
4. Previous experience of working in a health and safety role
Minimum Time in Post
You will be expected to remain in post for a minimum of three years unless successful at gaining promotion to a higher Band or Grade.
In the event that further posts are required, a reserve list of successful candidates will be kept for up to 12 months.
Location
This post is based in Glasgow with hybrid working in line with current Transport Scotland policies. You will be expected to be workplace based twice per week, pro rata. You may from time to time be required to visit other sites and offices, as required for the role.
The post is a full time role, but staff with different working patterns are invited to apply, and we will assess proposed working patterns against the business requirements for this post.
