Job summary
We are Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) and we are searching for a professional, motivated Band 5 Dental Hygienists to join our encouraging and friendly team at HM Naval Base Clyde, Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire.
DPHC is an inclusive and dedicated organisation working hard to provide excellent care to our entitled personnel.
£3000 per annum (paid monthly) award will be paid to all Defence Medical Services staff on Agenda for Change payrates in Scotland.
This position is 15 hours per week! Mon-Thu 0800 – 1600 negotiable days.

Person specification
Duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Undertaking CPD in the core subjects of medical emergencies, Infection Prevention Control (IPC), disinfection and decontamination, radiography and radiation protection, legal and ethical issues and handling complaints, as recommended by the GDC.
- Providing dental hygiene treatment in line with their approved scope of practice as per GDC guidelines and in accordance with agreed patient group directive (PGD).
- Working independently in accordance with Defence Primary HealthCare Dental (DPHC D) Standard Operation Procedures (SOP), Joint Service Publication (JSP) 950, Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) documents and all other relevant policy and guidelines.
- Carrying out and recording daily maintenance, servicing and pre-use checks of dental equipment reporting defects in accordance with current equipment care policies.
- Maintaining the standard and cleanliness of the surgery and accommodation for which they are responsible, reporting any deficiencies in accordance with local protocols.
