Were looking for an exceptional Climate Metadata Analyst – Industrial Placement 2024 to help us make a difference to our planet.
As our Climate Metadata Analyst – Industrial Placement 2024 you will work a hybrid pattern and will be on site at Exeter HQ, with one day a week in office as a minimum. You can choose to work more frequently in our state-of-the-art office if you’d prefer.

Job Purpose
As our Climate Metadata Analyst – Industrial Placement 2024 , the key duties are:
- Focusing on conducting the review and assessment of a wide variety of evidence. This may require some detective work and consideration of impacts and uncertainties from findings in comparison to site data.
- Being part of an operational team providing live Observational data to the Met Office products and services, with opportunities to experience and contribute to a wider range of activities
- Supporting the development of relationships with customers, partners, stakeholders and suppliers in order to maintain the Met Office’s reputation. The sources of metadata can provide important accounts which should aid celebration of our historic partnerships, becoming part of our internal and external communications and press.

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Abilities
- Currently studying an undergraduate degree in a physical science or related subject which must incorporate a placement year. (Keep evolving)
- Ability to systematically analyse data from a variety of sources in addition to proactively investigating leads. (Expert by Nature)
- Can communicate technical information clearly and concisely to a range of customers who have varying levels of technical understanding and express outcomes with consideration of uncertainties. (Better together)
- Can also communicate information of interest in a factual but engaging manner for use in internal and external communications. (Better together)
- Can demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised at times, delivering required tasks in a timely manner to the deadlines provided. (Live and Breathe it).
- Can provide evidence of developing better ways of working, seeing through these changes to ensure a better outcome. (Force for good)

As our Climate Metadata Analyst – Industrial Placement 2024, your salary will be £25606.00.
Whilst this is a temporary position until July 2025, there is potential for it to develop into an opportunity to join our Graduate Development scheme once you complete your University studies.
