This is a great career opportunity for someone in the early stages of their Business Analysis career. As a Junior Business Analyst you’ll work closely with more experienced colleagues to develop your expertise and capability. You’ll be part of our Delivery Hub and will work closely with IT and colleagues throughout Ofgem to support changes that meet user needs and support business improvement. This is a great chance to be involved in a diverse programme of work that will include business engagement, change management, process improvement, requirements engineering and benefits realisation.

We expect that you will already have relevant practical experience in business analysis and have knowledge of software design/development lifecycle. Excellent communication and engagement skills will enable you to produce and present clear, concise analysis and documentation in form of user stories and help establish positive relationships with others. A working knowledge of requirements management and Business modelling tools will also be beneficial.

Job description

This role is designed for someone early in their Business Analysis career and offers the opportunity to work closely with more experienced colleagues.  This is part of the effort to build a strong pool of permanent talent within the BA community in Ofgem.

As part of Delivery and Schemes you will work with IT and the business to support changes that meet user needs and technical requirements.  You will gain clear understanding of the Ofgem Delivery and Schemes directorate and the IT systems, services and capabilities.  You will capture and analyse business operational processes in order to identify and determine opportunities for process improvement.  The BA will work collaboratively to redesign and document processes and translate business requirements into functional and non-functional requirements.

This role offers the candidate an opportunity to join an organisation at an exciting period of change, especially in IT. The role will appeal to an individual that wishes to build their experience by working as part of a Business Analysis team that is involved in a diverse programme of work.

 

Person specification

  • Business engagement, process improvement and requirements engineering.
  • Support tendering processes through facilitation, and clear documentation of requirements, and criteria.
  • Business process modelling and requirements management using standard toolset adopted by Delivery and Schemes.
  • Requirements gathering & analysis.
  • Quality assurance of all processes and documents produced as part of functional and non functional requirements analysis, and Estimation.
