Job summary

The Develop Directorate acts as the thought leaders for the RN, leading the development of the Royal Navy’s future warfighting capability and acting as the Design Authority for RN capabilities of the future to achieve the optimum mix of present and future warfighting technologies for a modern, global and ready Royal Navy.

Develop is divided into five parts, Strategic Force Development, Capability Sponsor, UWB, Shipbuilding and NavyX.

 

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

Job description

The DEVELOP Directorate is large and complex, covering Force Development, Capability Sponsorship, Programme Delivery and Capability Planning. Due to the size and span of the Directorate the Business Management Team is required to support all functional business activities, programme management and governance as well as overseeing ‘business as usual’ elements of capability output.

The Develop Business Management Support Officer role ensures that all Resource & Management functions across the Develop Directorate are optimised in line with business need and in support of Develop strategic objectives and business outputs, you will report directly into the HEO Business Management Officer to assist and deliver admin support.

Main Responsibilities:

Assist in supporting the Business Management Support Lead (HEO) in all Resource Management activities for both Civilian and Military personnel including but not limited to:

  • Updating associated Organisation Charts, Maintenance of Staff Records & ensuring alignment of information
  • Maintenance of all personnel records and associated reporting mechanisms & requests
  • Attend regular resource related meetings to take minutes and action outcomes in support of the leadership team.

Support finance activities in the directorate to ensure continuity throughout and robust support :

  • ePC (Electronic Procurement Card) holder for the directorate, ensuring adherence to purchasing policy.
  • Undertake CP&F activities (Contract, Purchasing & Finance) in support of the wider directorate.

Assist in wider general Business Activities which include:

  • Coordinating responses to the Business Team Multi-User Mailbox in a timely manner
  • Administration of Interview Arrangements, Visitor Applications & ad hoc recruitment activities
  • Being the main Point of Contact for civilian and military queries relating to workforce & recruitment and other general queries.

Must be competent in using MS Office tools; Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Skype, SharePoint & Teams. Previous experience of working within a Business Support/Corporate setting is desirable

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
