The challenge
Make a real difference to the lives of students by bringing your data governance and programme leadership skills to the Office for Students (OfS). As the independent regulator of higher education in England, we ensure the best experience and the best value for students, for taxpayers, for the economy and for the public good. This is an opportunity to shape all aspects of data governance and data use at the OfS, by joining our Data Transformation Programme leadership team.
Job description
The role
The OfS has committed to deliver a significant and comprehensive data transformation programme (DTP), designed to establish a robust approach to modernising the use and management of all data, to inform decision making and support our regulatory activity.
You will support the Data Transformation Delivery Manager in establishing policies and procedures which will ensure that high standards of data governance are developed and maintained, in line with relevant regulations and ethical considerations. You will provide expert oversight of complex workstreams to drive delivery of the programmes objectives; this will involve team leadership, as well as ensuring appropriate and effective allocation of resources.
Person specification
About you
This role would suit an experienced data governance professional, who has knowledge of best practice across large and complex data models, combined with experience of developing principles, procedures and policies. The successful candidate will be able to motivate and lead a high performing team, and engage with diverse perspectives to deliver organisational change. Excellent communication skills, experience of building productive relationships with key stakeholders and a track record of effective and proactive decision making are therefore essential.
