We are seeking a Senior Salesforce Test Engineer to help drive the digitalisation of Ofgem so it is a smart regulator fit for future energy.
In this role, you’ll be part of the CRM Technical Lead team within the Center of Excellence (CoE), focusing on implementing the new xRM/CRM project. With Salesforce as the chosen tool, you’ll primarily engage with this technology. Collaborating closely with the CRM Technical Lead, CRM Product Owner, Salesforce Administrators, and end users, your key responsibility is to ensure robust design, delivery, and reporting of critical testing/QA components in coordination with Business Analysts.
In this role, your primary responsibilities involve the composition, debugging, and testing of Salesforce configurations. Collaborating closely with the CRM Technical Lead, you play a crucial role in devising effective strategies, test plans, and schedules.
Detailed test cases and specifications are meticulously documented and achieved through collaboration with Senior Salesforce Administrators and Business Analysts to ensure a comprehensive understanding of functional and non-functional requirements.
You will also be responsible for analysing test results, logging defects, reporting bugs and aiding in the troubleshooting of root causes. Additionally, you will actively engage with leaders in the digital, data, and technology domains, championing a commitment to quality. In addition, you will conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing, work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC and Work collaboratively with leads across the digital, data and technology professions to champion quality.

Job description
Help drive the digitalisation of Ofgem so it is a smart regulator fit for a future energy sector that is digitalising and utilising new technologies and operating models. With such change underway and on the way, it has never been more necessary for Ofgem to transform into a digital regulator and ensure consumers maximise the benefits from a rapidly changing energy market.
This role will be attached to the CRM Technical Lead team (CoE), where you will work in the new xRM/CRM project implementation. The tool chosen to deliver the xRM Project is Salesforce, so most of your time you will be working on that technology.
Supporting the CRM Technical Lead you will play a pivotal in ensuring that key testing/QA deliverables have been robustly designed, delivered and reported.
You will work closely with the CRM Technical Lead, CRM Product Owner, Senior Salesforce Administrators and end users to reach a common understanding and collaborate very closely with Business Analysts to make sure the required functional and non-functional test are documented and delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for writing, debugging and testing Salesforce configurations. At this level, you will:
- Collaborate with CRM Technical Lead to develop effective strategies, test plans, test cases/specifications and schedules.
- Document detailed test cases/specifications by work closely with Senior Salesforce Administrators and Business Analysts to reach a common understanding of functional/non-functional requirements and the level of test coverage required
- Carry out functional, non-functional and regression testing, ensuring it performs in line with the test specification.
- Analyse results of the test cases, Log defects and report bugs and errors and help troubleshoot the root causes.
- Conduct post-release/ post-implementation testing
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the SDLC
- Work closely with leads across the digital, data and technology profession to champion quality
Key Outputs and Deliverables
- Documentation of test cases/specifications
- Document Functional and non-functional testing results
- Define the most appropriate tests templates and scripts
- Testing/QA Reporting at Multiple stages of the SDLC
Person specification
- Experience assuring quality of test cases/specifications, documentation of the test results and risk analysis/assessment (LEAD)
- Proven experience in Salesforce testing and Salesforce best practices (LEAD)
- Proven experience in writing functional and non-functional tests/specifications
- Experience in identifying potential risks through testing and proactively recommend test actions.
- Experience of using automated testing tools/platforms
- Strong knowledge of Salesforce platforms: Salesforce Lightning, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud
