Here at Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC), we are inclusive and dedicated, working to provide excellent care to our entitled personnel!
We are looking for a friendly, well-organised and adaptable Practice Administrator to join our supportive and welcoming team of healthcare professionals and administrative staff working within the Medical Centre located at Chicksands,although you may be required to provide cover at other facilities within the Combined Practice Network.
The position offers 37 hours per week . Part-time candidates will be considered but due to service delivery requirements it must be on a job share basis as full-time hours need to be covered.

Job description
The successful candidate will work as a member of the Defence Primary Healthcare (DPHC) Team, which will provide comprehensive, efficient and effective service in accordance with Ministry of Defence (MOD) and DPHC policies and procedures.
Duties include the preparation of notes and statistics before clinics and surgeries.Administration of all medical records for Service personnel and entitled civilians.General secretarial and administrative support to the Practice team.Facilitation of effective communication between patients, members of the Primary Healthcare (PHC) team, secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies.
Person specification
The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Overseeing the running of clinics, maintaining and monitoring the Practice appointments system. Preparing documentation for all clinics, checking documents after clinics and taking appropriate action and filing away documents promptly.
Receiving and assisting patients and visitors, directing to others as appropriate. Handling all general enquiries from patients and others, in person and on the telephone, and takes and records messages for other members of the team. Processing and distributing incoming (and outgoing) mail
Supervising the use of the DMICP system by Practice administration team and mentoring users as necessary. Supervising the use of any other Information Systems (IS), staff database, intranet, internet, etc.
