Independently advising the family courts about what is safe for children and in their best interests, we speak up for over 140,0000 children and young people every year ensuring their needs, wishes and feelings are heard. In short, our role is to be their voice.
If our purpose resonates with you, we are recruiting for the role of Resourcing Compliance Adviser in our team based from our Coventry office, and if you join us you will work alongside like-minded people in a diverse, inclusive and supportive organisation.
Our team works flexibly and in a hybrid way and you can probably expect to be in the office around two days each week, on average.
Job description
Our Resourcing team play a critical role in supporting the organisation to recruit and onboard new employees, whether this is social workers or for our Corporate and Business Services teams who provide critical, specialist support.
As a Resourcing Compliance Adviser, you will take a lead role in managing our pre-employment processes and preparation for our payroll team. Firstly, you will play a key role in ensuring the team obtain the necessary compliance information (references, DBS, etc.) so we can efficiently progress offers to new starters. You will also ensure they receive accurate information from us (e.g. employment contracts) and that new starters are correctly set-up on our HR system, which feeds into several related processes.
You will manage a small group of Senior Resourcing Assistants, managing performance within the team, whilst coaching and supporting on complex scenarios. You will work closely with other Advisers to ensure together the team delivers a timely, consistent and quality service to candidates and managers alike.
You will also be part of the management team that oversees the Resourcing and People Transactions team, playing a key role in developing and implementing new projects or processes.
Person specification
To thrive as a Resourcing Compliance Adviser, we think you need to be someone who:
- Has some experience in coaching and mentoring colleagues to achieve their potential.
- Previous line management experience may be advantageous but it not essential if you have the ingredients needed to be an effective, supportive leader.
- Has a strong attention to detail.
- Has worked in a role where compliance has been a significant aspect of the role.
- Whilst this role specialises in compliance, some previous experience of working in a resourcing / recruitment role might be an advantage.
- Is motivated to continually improve them self and others.
- Is inspired by our organisational purpose and understands the importance of how this role contributes.
- Has a good understanding and ideally some experience but not critical of how to be an outstanding leader in a high trust / high challenge and strengths-based culture.
- Is innovative, creative and challenges them self and others to think and work in different ways, rather than default to doing what is familiar.
- Is analytical and uses qualitative and quantitative data to inform actions and decisions.
You can find out more about the above – and much more – before you apply by reading the job description in the documents section. We have also provided you with some information about the management standards we work to in Corporate and Business Services teams.
This role is initially being recruited on a 12-month fixed term contract basis to cover maternity leave. However, we want to reassure you that should you join us you will be very much treated the same as any other team member and we will support and develop you accordingly and you will be considered for any suitable permanent roles that come up in our team, which consists of nearly 20 people across Resourcing and People Transactions.
Benefits
We also know that to join us you want to be rewarded in a variety of ways, including quality time away from work to spend time with those important to you, support to manage your financial present and future, whilst also being trusted to manage your work/life balance. We have an extensive package of benefits that you can find out more about when you click through, including excellent holidays and a generous Local Government Pension Scheme to name just two things.
We also understand that you will want to work for an organisation that is both passionate and committed to supporting your wellbeing.
