NCHQ Business Services works as part of Director Naval Staff (DNS) who is responsible for driving delivery of the Navy Executive Committee (NEC) decisions and cohering some of the key enablers within the Headquarters. DNS is responsible for: translation of strategic intent from Defence, Navy Board and NEC into RN organisational output; driving of organisational enhancements at pace; coherence of cross-cutting enablers; engagement with COO Head Office; lead for organisational safety and security; climate change and sustainability; enhancing productivity through improved ways of working and digitisation; whole force culture and ethos; and wider business improvement. The Directorate comprises c450 staff employed across seven 1* Business Areas. These are: Chief Technology Officer; Chief Digital and Information Officer; Infrastructure; Comms and Influence; Internal Consultancy Group; Deputy Director Performance; and Chief of Staff Navy. DNS outcomes directly or indirectly support Front Line operations and/or the working and lived experience of the Naval Service people.
The Navy Command HQ Business Services Group is part of the integrated functional Navy Command Headquarters, under the Command of the Chief of Staff NAVY. The HQ Business Services Group is responsible, within resource limits, for supporting all Divisions of the HQ in achieving the 3 core Fleet outputs by the efficient administration of: Security, Reception, Travel and Transport, Facilities Management, Barrack-Master, Mail and Administrative Support Services.
The role of the Motor Transport (MT) Team is to support NCHQ and outstations with all their Business Transport requirements.
This opportunity offers a busy and challenging job to anyone who enjoys variety and a challenge. The job holder will be customer focused and a team player, who has an enthusiasm to take up a challenging role that offers the chance to work with all levels of the NCHQ organisation. The role requires attention to detail and some basic computer skills. You will need to build and maintain good working relations, keep up to date with policy and support members of NCHQ transport team. The post will also cover all aspects of transport, focusing on the output of the Transport Section.

Job description
This is a permanent appointment as a Skill Zone 2 Coach Driver. The job holder will be required to ensure the cost-effective provision of Business Transport Services, Best Value for Money and meeting the customers expectations and requirements. To deliver all outputs, ensuring that all support is delivered efficiently, offering advice on matters relating to military/civilian transport.
The MT Driver is responsible to the Travel and Transport Manager through the Deputy Transport Manager for all aspects of their purposes and tasks.

It supports operations around the globe and provides the ships, people, aircraft, and equipment to deliver the UKs defence policy.
