Job summary

The Resettlement and Education Co-ordinator (REC) is part of the Force Development Training Flight which consists of a team of 4, led by the Station Training Officer. The REC works closely with the Regional Resettlement Officer as first line support for all Service Leavers including Regular and Medical Discharge. The Force Development Training Flight is responsible for personal and professional development for Service and Civilian personnel.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week

Job description

The successful candidate will work alongside the Learning Centre and Training and Development Flight staff to provide a full service to Service personnel who are transitioning to civilian life. This includes providing advice and guidance on resettlement courses that are available, signposting individuals to bespoke areas of support based on their personal circumstances, and ensuring all personnel are aware of and make full use of the funding available to them.

As there are a number of policies and regulations regarding the use of public funds, full training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Person specification

You will need to be an effective and efficient communicator as they will be dealing with a wide range of personnel. Communication paths will be variable such as via email, face to face and over the phone or Skype, the incumbent requires the ability to tailor communications appropriately to the audience, situation, and topic.

Although there are specific computer systems of which tuition will be given; the ideal candidate will be familiar with and capable of using standard programmes such as Microsoft word, Excel, and Outlook.
