Job description

If successful you will work within a small team under the direction of the Business Unit Manager to ensure that business support and financial resources are aligned with Survey and Inspection priorities.

You will ensure consistency in approach to business support within the Business Unit and between Marine offices. Providing financial and administrative support across the Survey and Inspection department unit. Processing Shipping Accounts, Invoicing and Cash Accounts through the Agresso (ABW) platform.

No finance experience is necessary as full training will be given. It’s your enthusiasm, helpful manner and willingness to learn that we require. What we do ask is that you feel comfortable engaging with colleagues and customers, have good writing and numerical skills and are keen to help others.

This role will be based in the Beverley Office. MCA supports flexible working and operates a hybrid working model between home and office for this role, giving you greater flexibility over where and when you work. Details of the arrangement will be discussed further with your line manager. 

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work under the line management and direction of the National Business Unit Manager to ensure that consistent business support is aligned with Survey and Inspection priorities and to develop working relationships and processes to improve the efficiency of the S&I.

  • Routine engagement with the MCA HQ Finance and Procurement Team in order to adhere to high levels of governance particularly relating to all areas of the Agresso (ABW) platform.
  • Provide routine administrative business support.  This may include maintaining a shared email in box, telephone answering, filing (paper and electronic systems) and post duties.
  • Assist the National Business Unit Manager with internal and external Audit preparation.

About You

To thrive in this role, you will have an excellent level of numeracy and English literacy as well as a keen eye for detail, allowing you to identify errors to ensure business standards are adhered to. 

You will be a team player and enjoy working closely with your colleagues, but also someone who can work with minimal supervision when required. You are flexible and can adapt to change when needed. Being an effective communicator, you can clearly communicate with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels. You can use your superb interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

You will have excellent organisational skills and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise a conflicting workload.

There may be occasional travel required with this role, which may include some overnight stays. You will be provided with full notice of this.
