Job summary

One of VMD’s highest priorities is ensuring our staff, customers and those who use veterinary medicines have all the information they need to carry out their role, access our services, and comply with the Veterinary Medicines Regulations. 
As a member of the Information Coordination & Engagement Team, you will have the opportunity to help create dynamic and engaging ways to deliver information. You will be supporting teams to meet enquiry response targets and the delivery of key internal messages. You will also contribute to website and social media development and support our stakeholder and network management.

Job description

•    Progress requests to update our GOV.UK pages helping to ensure content is consistent and in accordance with our style guide and accessibility standards.
•    Site administrator of our Intranet controlling the integrity of the site structure and provide guidance support to page owners.
•    Act as our primary customer contact point for the mainline phone, general enquiries inbox, and deliveries. Ensure that emails and call-back requests are recorded, assigned to the right teams, and subsequently closed within set timelines.
•    Maintain our correspondence management database, drawing out information to support teams to meet deadlines and report against these.
•    Deliver our internal communications and proactively seek out information to cascade to staff. Coordinate the creation and delivery of our weekly and monthly information round-up email and a key dates slide.
•    Maintain information collections, such as stakeholder contact details, in Excel, Word, and other app or online software.
•    Support the delivery of our social media activity by posting planned content at the appropriate time and continuing to develop our list of amplification resources, such as relevant hashtags.
•    Carry out other routine and ad-hoc administrative tasks that support our key objectives and delivery plans.
•    Support our team in achieving our goals relating to wider business compliance activities, such as quality management, information security and data protection.

We require someone that is/has:

  • Proficient in use of MS Office applications

Candidates should also have experience of using social media or the ability to get up to speed quickly.

Selection process details

Sift

    Reserve List

    A reserve list may be held for a period of 12 months from which further appointments can be made.

    Salary

    New entrants are expected to start on the minimum of the pay band.

    Existing Civil Servants moving on level transfer will retain their current salary or move onto the pay range minimum, whichever is the higher. Staff moving on promotion will have their pay increased by 10% or move onto the pay range minimum, whichever is the higher. As a general rule allowances and supplements will not be recognised.

    Location 

    Please be aware that this role(s) will be contractually based in a Defra group workplace/office. The successful candidate is required to carry out all their duties from a UK location and cannot do so from an overseas location at any time.
