Corporate Communications Officer
Birmingham, West Midlands (with hybrid working)

We are looking for a Corporate Communications Officer to join our team in Birmingham where you will help to support the Commission’s corporate communications and stakeholder engagement. This will include supporting communications and engagement for major Commission projects, drafting briefing material and speeches for senior staff, and leading individual communications projects.

Job description

As a Corporate Communications Officer, you will be confident maintaining a number of communications channels, reviewing and assessing their impact and success in delivering our ambitions.

Your role will also involve:

– Delivering the Commission’s major communications projects, including timed announcements and reactive communications, and lead on a small number of communications projects. You will also support the research and drafting of briefings and speeches for senior staff.
– Leading on a number of stakeholder relationships, contribute to stakeholder mapping and maintain information on the Commission’s stakeholder relationships.
– Developing and updating of the Commission’s website. You will ensure news, documents and information are uploaded in a timely manner, make sure the website meets accessibility requirements and think creatively to present information in an engaging format.
– Assisting with ad hoc projects across the Communications and Engagement team when needed. General communications team support and administration as required during busy periods.

This is a hybrid role, therefore there will be a requirement to attend our Birmingham Office.

Person specification

– Experience of supporting the delivery of major communications projects, including drawing up communications plans and preparing material to share with stakeholders.
– Experience of researching and drafting communications assets.
– Experience of mapping and maintaining records on stakeholders.
– Excellent IT skills and ability to learn new systems quickly.
– Strong administrative skills.
– A proactive, team player who wants to work across a multi-disciplinary communications team and learn new skills when necessary.
Alongside your salary of £30,000, Gambling Commission contributes
