As a Senior Dynamics Functional Consultant, you will be working closely with projects, business teams, analysts, and user experience specialists. Your team will deliver and maintain solutions that meet business needs with efficient and effective processes and ways of working. You will be a key part of the digital transformation of HSE.

You will be supporting existing systems, designing, and delivering new features as HSE develop its services, adhering to standards and using Agile principles ensuring timely production of goals and approvals through constructive collaboration with all relevant parties contributing to innovation of all products.
As a Senior Dynamics Functional Consultant, you will work with a wide range of stakeholders such as user researchers, product managers, designers, business analysts, content specialists, delivery managers and other digital architects, all of whom share a vision for a user centric approach and making government services better through smarter use of technology.
In this role you will drive and deliver development and implementation of Microsofts Dynamics 365/Power Platform solutions which form part of HSEs back office and business facing solutions. This will enable the development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs focused on Regulatory Systems. This is a great opportunity for a Senior Functional Consultant looking to develop their Dynamics skillset.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Dynamics 365 CE (Customer Engagement) Functional Consultant to join our team. As a Senior Dynamics Functional Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation and customisation of Dynamics 365 CE solutions for use by our internal and external users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop/configure and implement solutions for MS Dynamics within the Digital Portfolio of Projects and Programmes in HSE.
- Configure and customize Dynamics 365 CE components, including entities, forms, views, workflows, and business rules.
- Design and implement business processes using out-of-the-box functionalities and custom extensions.
- Work with other Senior Dynamics Functional Consultants and Dynamics Functional Consultants and key stakeholders to resolve the key technical issues faced within the HSE Portfolio and ensure seamless integration of custom components and third-party applications.
- Develop, customise, and configure solutions using Dynamics 365 CE and Power Platform.
- Provide technical leadership in relation to infrastructure and development decisions while setting examples for teams through good ways of working and collaboration.
- Utilise Azure DevOps and technical design sessions to collaboratively develop.
- Ensure all solution designs and implementations are documented to a high standard while ensuring the implementation also delivers the milestones of the strategic roadmap.
- Support developing IT technical solutions to solve business problems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their unique requirements and objectives.
- Implement a continuous integration and deployment lifecycle for projects and BAU services in line with Cabinet Office (Central Digital & Data Office (CDDO)) design principles.
- Ensure the reuse of common components in line with CDDO and HSE Design principles.
- Set up a way of working and process internally to support existing and manage new developments.
- Address and resolve user issues, bugs, and system errors in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful completion of projects within specified timelines and budgets.
- Participate in project planning, risk assessment, and progress reporting.
- Manage and coach a Dynamics Functional Consultants as appropriate and additionally oversee team of Dynamics Support Analysts. Activities will include: –
- Setting individual objectives and development plans and monitor outputs and outcomes against the performance framework and undertaking 1-2-1 (at least every 8 weeks);
- Ensure that all work is delivered to the required standards.
- Identify and monitor training and development needs and tracking development to ensure there is a positive correlation with training and performance.
- Identify and recognise high performance and seek to replicate this consistently across the team and on an on-going basis.
- Foster a culture of engagement, success and innovation that emphasises quality, continuous improvement, employee development and high performance, celebrating the teams achievements.
Person specification
- Proven experience as a Dynamics 365 Functional Consultant or a similar role, with a track record of successful implementations.
- Strong knowledge of Dynamics 365 CE modules, including Customer Service and Field Service.
- Proficiency in configuring and customising Dynamics 365 CE using the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
- Familiarity with Azure integration and common data service concepts.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex business requirements into practical solutions.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-skilled team environment.
- The ability to bring together technical and non-technical skills to quickly research and systematically solve problems.
- Good planning, scheduling skills and ability to work logically.

Essential criteria:
- Knowledge/experience of some/all the following would be advantageous – .NET, C# language, HTML, web resources, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript. SharePoint, Azure Logic apps, Azure Dev Ops, Azure Blob Storage, Dataverse, Plugin development, Web API.
- Broad knowledge and demonstrable experience of Business Solutions, ideally in the Microsoft Power Platform. Including Dynamics CRM CE and Power Automate.
- Experience of using Azure Dev Ops as a resource and requirements tracking tool while also having experience of CI/CD implementation using the tool.
- Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and data management methodologies plus IT processes (Agile, Waterfall).
- Knowledge in identifying product choices in support of projects authorised through IT governance and good comprehension of regulations governing IT, e.g., Data Protection, GDPR, Accessibility.
- Assist with delivering end-to-end software lifecycle improvements, using agile delivery methods and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Experience implementing and developing Dynamics CRM alongside front-end applications.
- Experience developing and implementing power apps portals.
