Estates and Corporate Health Safety & Environmental Protection Group (Estates) provides the platform and capability to enable the delivery of high impact S&T, maintaining the legacy, delivering the now and planning for the future
The Environmental and Sustainability Advisor will assist the Senior Environmental and Sustainability Advisor, the Environmental and Sustainability Manager and the Controlled Waste Manager, who are responsible for providing continuous improvement of environmental protection and sustainability across Dstl, provision of Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice and assurance to projects and for generating and promoting a positive vision for the environment and sustainability across Dstl.

Job description
In this role you will:
- Assist in delivering activities and projects in support of Dstls Sustainability Strategic Direction, Sustainability Policy and Key Performance Indicators, and the UK Government/MOD sustainability and environmental protection ambitions and requirements
- Communicate using various methods to staff and stakeholders on enhancing sustainability and environmental protection
- Assist in delivering and maintaining an Environmental Management System, including carrying out associated audits
- Assist in developing sustainable travel and transport provision, and associated engagement and communications

Person specification
We are looking for someone who has:
A background in sustainability and environmental protection
· Knowledge and experience of environmental management systems
· The ability to interpret regulations and how to apply these to Dstl
· The ability to develop relationships with key stakeholders across Dstl and wider MOD
· A desire to improve sustainable travel and transport
Essential qualifications:
Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA) Certificate in Environmental Management
