An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Barista to be a key part of our professional, award-winning team in the Catering Services of the House of Commons.

Catering Services aim to deliver the best quality service with an enthusiastic and professional team for the benefit of all our customers.  We are responsible for the efficient operation of the House of Commons catering facilities within the agreed financial framework.

Job description

Baristas are required to work within the team supporting the Supervisors and Manager to ensure the smooth and effective running of the catering services premium coffee outlets, a busy Catering operation.

You will be responsible for ensuring that all food and beverages and displays are replenished regularly. whilst meeting agreed customer and operational standard Helping to ensure that the venue is kept clean, free of litter and supporting and the guest experience.

The post holder will be passionate about food, beverages, customer service and must be able to work as part of a team. The role will include cash handling for which a great deal of accuracy is required, ordering of product lines, stock taking and will include some administrative duties.

Person specification

  • Relevant cafeteria / barista experience in a similar position, working in a high volume, high quality establishment.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to respond quickly to customer needs.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, written and oral, able to build effective relationships with, and relate to people at all levels and with diverse backgrounds.
Alongside your salary of £25,986, House of Commons contributes
