Job summary
The role is responsible for technical leadership, planning and implementing strategy to ensure all Hard FM services are completed to the agreed standard and comply with all regulatory and legislative standards. You will ensure that standards are understood internally within Dstl and externally with multiple stakeholders including the FM Provider and DIO and that maintenance is applied consistently across the Dstl estate.

Job description
You will be responsible for interpreting these and ensuring compliance utilising the appropriate frameworks and agreed processes. You will be defining strategies for the Dstl estate, as well as reviewing requirements and interacting with the facilities manager and work place manager community across the Dstl Estate.
You will also provide assurance and compliance across the group and specifically into the FM Technical Lead.
The role will require the individual to oversee, influence and build strong working relationships with internal and external customers, including technical services leadership team, the FM Provider and DIO. The Estates Technical Services Manager role is crucial to the delivery of hard FM whilst providing technical assistance across the Dstl Estates and satellite site.

Person specification
We are looking for someone who has:
- Understanding in complying with real estate and related statutory, regulatory and professional requirements.
- Vast experience which has been gained within a property, facilities management or similar complex function.
- Detailed knowledge of construction and building services.
- Extensive knowledge of H&S statutory processes, Building Regulations and construction related legislation in FM.
- The appropriate professional authority and credibility to ensure acceptance of recommendations/proposals from colleagues and stakeholders.
- Previous experience in supporting and leading on both Hard and Soft FM delivery.
- Excellent people management skills, clear thinker with the ability to flex to the demands of the role.
