Were MI6, also known as the Secret Intelligence Service. The Role
£29,979 (rising to £32,333 in year two), plus a £3,050 local pay addition (LPA)
Working pattern: Full time, Monday to Friday shifts 7.45am-4pm (41 hours per week) with occasional voluntary overtime.
As a Logistics Operative, youll be the face of the logistics team within our Estates Department. Youll be the first person our couriers meet when making deliveries, ready and willing to assist with a range of day-to-day duties from goods-in to despatch. You could be taking receipt of items; x-ray scanning, unpacking, and recording deliveries on our systems; or packing items to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) standards and bagging consignments to move as diplomatic freight.
Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, youll work as part of a small but busy team providing a full range of logistical services to colleagues in the UK and overseas. Youll bring a mix of practical logistics experience and IT skills to the role. You could be behind the wheel of our vans and forklifts, overseeing fleet management, or ensuring our IT systems are kept updated with equipment details and delivery records.
Though youll be based in West London, you might occasionally be required to work at our sites within the M25 and across the wider UK. Plus, youll have the option to undertake occasional, voluntary international travel. Please note, you may be required to work outside your hours for which overtime will be paid.

About You
Youll be someone who enjoys working in a people-facing role. Happy working in a team, youll also be comfortable liaising with colleagues from across the organisation at all levels. No week is the same, so youll work flexibly and switch between jobs as priorities change.
You might already have logistics or warehouse experience as well as a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. This isnt essential, as youll will receive extensive training upon joining. Importantly, you will have a full UK driving licence, as youll be required to drive our vehicles and occasionally travel to other locations.
Personal fitness is an important aspect of this role. Youll need to pass an Occupational Health assessment prior to being appointed and, if successful, maintain your fitness throughout your career with us.
Training and development
At MI6, were committed to investing in the development of our people. Youll receive an extensive induction into the logistics team upon joining, including health and safety and risk assessment briefings. Additionally, youll also have a standard office induction where youll get to learn more about MI6 and the critical work we do.
Throughout your career, youll have opportunities to undertake a wide range of internal and external training courses. These include forklift truck and CAA training, as well as broader upskilling in areas such as IOSH Managing Safely and first aid at work.
