Customer Experience and Service Delivery brings together service delivery functions into one team. The vision is to create a more integrated service with a one-stop-shop approach.

We are responsible the cleaning of the House of Commons, including high profile Heritage Areas of the House of Commons and we manage the cleaning contractor within the House of Commons.

Job description

This role is to provide cleaning and janitorial support throughout the Palace of Westminster, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The role sits within the Heritage Cleaning Team and appropriate training will be provided.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

  • Cleaning the agreed areas, in the agreed time, according to the specification as laid down.
  • To empty and maintain cleanliness of bins – both rubbish and recycling.
  • Ensuring surfaces are dust free and vacuumed. 

This is a part time role working 17.5 hours per week.

Person specification

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • To have experience of achieving a high standard of cleaning in a Heritage environment.
  • To have a basic understanding of Heritage Cleaning theory and practice (further training will be provided as appropriate).
  • Ability to work successfully within a team, whilst upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • An ability to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility and adaptability and be able to work effectively in a pressurised environment.
  • (Desirable) Ideally hold a British Institute of Cleaning Science Level 1 certificate or equivalent.
