Job summary

The Operations division reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Division is formed of existing experienced staff and several new staff who have come on board in the last 2-3 years.

Premium and Data Control team (PDC)

Partnering with key stakeholders within Ops and teams outside of Operations to ensure all UKEF business transactions are accurately recorded and maintained on UKEF’s corporate System, Advanced Commercial Banking system (ACBS).

International Debt team

Ensuring that the maximum amount of debt in respect of claims paid is recovered in a manner consistent with the Governments’ policy on debt forgiveness, through the appropriate UK representation at Paris Club where debt treatment is negotiated. Ensuring that Bilateral agreements are drafted in a timely manner and negotiations are concluded within deadline, agreements are built accurately on ACBS and payments of sovereign debt made to UKEF are administered, and payments to customers made in timely manner. Additionally, the management of non-Paris Club sovereign debt.)

 Service Delivery team

A team which owns the operations of the portal website, workflow system and associated operational relationship management with banks, brokers, exporters and other users of the portal and other digital assets. Also oversee the Bank Delegation Service.

DL Operations Team

Ultimate responsibility for the Direct Lending portfolio, on a post signing basis, including correct booking of new facilities, accurate processing of drawdown requests, and covenant monitoring).

Job description

This role sits in the Premium Data Control Team (PDC).  The team is responsible for accurately recording and maintaining details of UK Export Finance’s (UKEF) business transactions and international debt agreements on one of the department’s key corporate systems (Advanced Commercial Banking System (ACBS), “a comprehensive commercial lending and trading system of integrated functional modules that support the lending process from deal building through servicing and trading.”).

As a PDC Manager, you will also have responsibility for the accurate and timely recording and maintenance of corporate data on ACBS by processing and entering data received from stakeholders.  The job holder will provide support for any investigation of problems (referring to the ACBS System Administrators as required) and the re-entry or amendment to data entries within the corporate system.

This role will primarily be the lead for Change and the Service Delivery team.

Identify and lead on Change, identifying processes and procedures that can be streamlined and improved and ensuring traction against continuous improvement initiatives.  

Responsible for working with the other HEO’s to manage the team by helping to prioritise and load- balance across the team.  Work needs to be dealt with promptly to meet the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Service Level Agreement (SLA) time frames.

You will also be responsible for assisting in analysing control reports and other data validation checks to ensure all risks are mitigated.

The post will have line management responsibilities for at least one member of staff that will require regular catch ups, setting objectives and providing ongoing feedback and performance monitoring.

  • Ensuring that the work is processed accurately within the agreed KPI and SLA deadlines, escalating to SEO’s where required
  • Ensuring robust procedures are maintained and all EO staff are adequately trained and challenged
  • Monitoring of workflow tasking systems, working as a team to deal with workloads and priorities to maintain agreed service levels
  • Help drive Change within the team by identifying areas of improvement
  • Partner with Stakeholders to build relationships and maintain effective communication between teams

Management

  • Actively participate in weekly meetings with SEOs on issues and prioritisation
  • Attend project boards/ meetings where required to represent the team
  • Responsible for ensuring data accuracy when approving in ACBS

Qualifications

To meet the National Security Vetting requirements for this role you will need to have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years. If you do not meet this requirement, you would not be eligible for SC clearance and therefore not eligible to apply for this role.
