Money and Pensions Service are looking for a Debt Advice Strategy Manager. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and welcoming team. As part of the debt senior leadership team, the role will lead on the co-ordination and delivery of all the projects and workstreams under the MaPS debt advice strategy including the commissioning lifecycle, innovation, and delivery development

Job description

The Debt Advice Strategy Manager will report directly to Head of money and debt operations. In this role you will be responsible for the following;

  • Establish, plan and design the new approach to managing all the workstreams under the debt strategy and manage the change in approach and ongoing delivery.
  • Ensuring that a robust management methodology applies across all the workstreams under the debt strategy, and be responsible for the co-ordination, interdependencies, benefits tracking and strategic area risk management.
  • Define and manage the debt strategy governance arrangements.
  • Lead on budget and resource planning and monitoring across the debt portfolio.
  • Be part of the Debt senior leadership team contributing to the development and delivery of the debt strategy

Person specification

You will need to demonstrate the following skills and experience;

 

  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of planning, monitoring and controlling workstreams including budgeting and resource allocation procedures.
  • Experience of the debt advice sector and advice development and delivery
  • Strong and effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, including managing external stakeholders and understanding what drives them.
  • Proven experience of solving problems in complex situations with conflicting strategic priorities
  • Proven expertise in delivering large/complex programmes with clients at the centre.
  • Ability to analyse complex data, draw conclusions, produce reports and make recommendations to senior management in relation to programme delivery.
  • The ability to work at pace in a complex environment, driving progress in the face of a range of competing views and priorities and being calm and resilient in pressured situations.
  • Proven experience of using technology and innovation to improve service delivery.
  • Evidence of a proactive, results-driven and collaborative approach to change and delivery with a willingness to challenge the status quo and come up with new ideas and approaches to achieve the successful delivery of corporate objectives.
