Job summary
The Falkland Islands Government is a diverse organisation responsible for all aspects of central and local government in the Islands, from Health and Education to Emergency Services and even an air service. We currently have a vacancy for a Head of Finance, incorporating the role of Treasurer in our Treasury Directorate. The Department provides professional advice on public financial management, development of financial and fiscal strategies, tax collection and exchequer services to the public, Government departments and Elected Members.
Person specification
The successful applicant will be a qualified CCAB (or CIMA) accountant and have significant experience in public financial accountancy at a senior level. A successful track record in business and financial planning, project management, corporate strategic planning and public sector finance in a large multi-disciplinary organisation with comparable scope, responsibilities, budgets and resources is also required.
