Job summary
This role is located within the Chief Executive Office and specifically the Risk, Assurance and Governance (RAG) team, which is where the management system team sits.
The Management System Principal is part of the management system team and is a key role responsible for maintaining, developing and improving Dstls ISO 9001 certified Management System (MS) in accordance to business needs.
The MS describes the policies and business processes which demonstrate Dstls quality approach to conducting business activities. This is mainly achieved through collaboration and engagement with key stakeholders; thereby ensuring that information about how to conduct activities is available, accurate, and accessible and equality impact assessed (where necessary).

Job description
In this role you will:
- Fulfil the responsibilities of every member of Dstl Staff;
- Develop, maintain and improve the management system for the benefit of the business whilst ensuring policies, processes and procedures are accurate (based on information given) and accessible to all Dstl employees;
- Maintain the MS host platform collaborating with Digital colleagues to ensure fitness for purpose, implementing improvements for the longevity of the MS and business requirements;
- Collaborate, support and assist Process Owners and Stewards to deliver effective quality and process management in accordance to the Business Process Governance Framework;
- Work with the MS Team timescales to manage and deliver change request in a timely manner ensuing accurate information is published and communicated to the business;
- Manage and maintain the process review cycle through collaboration with Process Owners and Stewards;
- Work with colleagues to improve process governance standards;
- Foster good relations, advocate diversity & inclusion, through proactive engagement with stakeholders and/or appropriate fora.
Person specification
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience and knowledge of ISO 9001:2015;
- Experience and knowledge of process design and specifications;
- Proven ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders and who enjoys building new relationships whilst maintaining existing relationships;
- The ability to influence stakeholders and advocate the benefits of a management system whilst conveying these in a simplistic manner for the wider benefit of the business;
- A methodical and structured approach when reviewing changes and updating information.
