Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small and friendly team helping to deliver key business support functions to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) Director of Building Safety Office (DOBSO) and the Senior Management Team. You will support in the delivery of an efficient operation of the BSR DOBSO; supporting a range of business meetings and engagement events; will focus on providing quality administrative support to the BSR, Policy and Sector colleagues supporting a range of corporate functions. You will need to be flexible and proactive as you will work with other teams across the BSR.
Working within the Director of Building Safety Office will put you at the heart of the BSR programme, provide insight into the building safety programme and help keep people safe in their homes.
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, who responds effectively to change and works well with unpredictable demands. The post holder will be confident, resilient, resourceful and prepared to learn quickly to deliver exceptionally high standards.
As part of this role you will have the fantastic opportunity to complete the NVQ level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship, paid for by HSE, alongside your day-to-day role during the 18 months. This currently averages 20% of your work time dedicated to study.
This role will require frequent travel to HSE’s head office in Bootle, Liverpool.

Responsibilities
You will:
- Manage diaries, schedule appointments, and meetings.
- Arrange meetings and coordinate briefing packs.
- Provide secretariat support, including occasionally taking minutes.
- Support and arrange engagement, leadership and workshops events.
- Provide administrative support linked to FOI and Official correspondence.
- Provide cover for the full range of B6 BSR functions including, ad-hoc support as required e.g. printing papers, agendas and presentations.
- CM9 Records Administrator.
Essential Criteria
You will need to demonstrate the ability to:
- Work with minimal supervision, be delivery-focused, organised and efficient
- Deliver at pace, be able to multi-task, and prioritise work loads
- Communicate effectively with a range of diverse stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Identify errors and solve problems
- Work collaboratively towards shared goals
- A working knowledge of Office 365 and good IT skills to produce a variety of documents.

Selection process details
Sift
At sift, you will be assessed on your Statement of Suitability of up to 500 words and the behaviours delivering at pace.
