UK Security Vetting have a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced Talent Lead to join our team and play a crucial role in attracting and retaining exceptional employees. You will be responsible for identifying talent within the organisation and ensuring that succession planning is firmly and successfully established.
As a Talent Lead you will play a pivotal role in developing and delivering a range of priority projects designed to identify, attract and retain talented individuals who can contribute to the growth and success of the organisation.
Job description
- Identifying the organisational needs and work to create and implement a first-class talent acquisition strategy to improve recruitment and business performance
- Establish, implement, maintain and review talent strategies.
- Introduce talent management tools to establish critical skills/roles and benchmark existing skill levels.
- Proactively plan and manage the senior talent to support succession planning and sourcing of executive level critical skills.
- Plan and deliver initiatives to ensure line managers are confident and skilled at using talent management tools, hold regular career conversations and signpost opportunities to imbue a development culture.
- Introduce talent management tools to establish critical skills/roles and benchmark existing skill levels.
- Evaluate current succession plans and work with relevant teams to make sure that they are up to date and that there is a focus on diversity.
- Raise the profile of talent management within UKSV to ensure it is clearly embedded into manager skill sets.
- Analyse and use feedback from Mentor and Coaching schemes identifying where improvements need to be made to improve outcomes.
- Develop and foster strong working relationships across Government to identify Best Practice and implement programmes that capitalise on these successful initiatives.
- Interpret data to manage and deliver quality insightful reports.
Person specification
Essential Criteria
- Successful record in developing, delivering and managing a range of high quality and effective talent related or early careers programmes
- Experience of developing and working on successful initiatives for career and succession planning
- Experience of performance and leadership development along with life-long learning
- Communicating with impact with the ability to influence and consult with key internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and databases
- Strong organisational skills able to balance priorities whilst meeting personal and department targets managing own workload within demanding timescales and fast-moving environments
- Experience of the principles of project management applied to varied and complex projects
- Confident with using key metrics and analytical tools
- Experience developing and working on a range of initiatives for career and succession planning

- CIPD membership or willingness to work towards this

You will be asked to provide a 250-word statement on the Behaviours Managing a Quality Service and Making Effective Decisions.
To assess experience you will be asked to provide a 500 word count personal statement and a name-blind (anonymous) CV as part of the application process.
Should a large number of applications be received, an initial sift may be undertaken using the lead Behaviour Managing a Quality Service. Candidates who pass the initial sift may be progressed to a full sift, or progressed straight to assessment/interview.
