Are you curious?
Do you see the bigger picture?
Are you a systems thinker?
Do you want to make a difference?

Here in our Clothing & General Supplies Team, a busy and fast-paced environment, we are so busy delivering business as usual that we have no capacity to look at Business Improvements – so this role is dedicated to achieve exactly that purpose.

The Clothing & General Supplies Team (CGST) is an integral part of the Navy Command Force Generation (FGEN) Logistics (Logs) Division, supporting the Royal Navy’s front-line operations. In Navy Command, our civil servants work alongside their military colleagues in jobs that matter; jobs which often have a direct impact on the quality of the operational capabilities we deliver.  Navy Command Headquarters (NCHQ) is the nerve centre of the Naval Service, supporting Operations around the globe and providing the people, ships, submarines, aircraft and equipment to deliver the UK’s Defence Policy.

The FGEN Logs Division is responsible for operational support planning and for keeping the Fleet supplied. It also defines the requirement for logistic aspects of both future capabilities and for in-service capability management for Maritime Surface, Sub-Surface, Aviation and Royal Marine Land systems. It also acts as the Intelligent Customer to DE&S for commodities, is the support lead for land equipment operated by the Royal Marines, and responsible for setting logistic standards and practices onboard ships and submarines. The 1* head, DD FGEN Logs, has a functional leadership role in the Navy’s logistic branch as Deputy Chief Naval Logistic Officer. In addition, DD Logs is the RSO for the six RN Oil Fuel Depots (OFDs) with the fuel commodities team managing the programme towards full regulatory compliance while maintaining provision of maritime fuels for current activity and contingent operations.

We value diversity within our team and operate flexible smart ways of working; we support our workforce to find the balance of home and office working that is right for them.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
