At the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA), our purpose is to deliver the United Kingdoms submarine capability and ensure the Royal Navy have the lifesaving, battle-winning capabilities to overcome adversaries and adversity, now and in the future. Come and join us as a Supply Chain Manager.
As a Supply Chain Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering a wide range of supply chain activities that contribute to operational success. From Item Data Management and Customer Demand Planning to Inventory Supply Planning, Supplier Management, Supply Chain Performance Management, and Inventory Disposals, you will be at the forefront of ensuring efficiency and effectiveness throughout our supply chain.
You will be encouraged to develop your skills through training and on the job learning and will ensure that a high-quality service is delivered. This will be demonstrated through your ability to collaborate with others to support your customers in the Royal Navy and other SDA Delivery Teams.
A keen eye for detail and data management skills will play a vital part in this post and will enable you to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement within our supply chain operations.
Please note that these roles are based in our offices in Bristol and in-office attendance will be expected as required.

Responsibilities
Will typically include ensuring that:
- Item Data Records are created and maintained on the MOD Logistic Information Systems for agreed ranges of equipment.
- Inventory Demand and Supply Plans are developed and executed, within Financial Delegation limits.
- All MOD owned inventory are materiel and financially accounted for in accordance with Inventory Materiel & Financial Accounting Policy and Procedures.
- The disposal of Inventory is planned and conducted in a timely manner and within financial delegation limits.
- Defined Management Checks are conducted.
You may also:
- support the identification of optimal storage and distribution solution(s) to meet the Customers requirements.
- assist support solution development by detailing the mandated Supply Chain requirements, including Government Furnished Equipment (GFE).
Person specification
To be successful with your application, you’ll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
- Background of working within a Supply Chain environment
- Adept in managing a budget
- Experience in delivering customer service
- Skilled in handling, interpreting, and reporting on data
- Competence in managing others
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams)
It would also be great if you can demonstrate any of the following desirable criteria:
- Supply Chain affiliated membership with a professional body e.g., CILT/CIPS
- Accomplished in using Logistic Information Systems
- Experience of stakeholder engagement
In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
- Inventory Demand and Supply Planning Practitioner level
- Materiel and Financial Accounting for Inventory Practitioner level
- Managing a Quality Service CSBC3
- Leadership CSBC3
